Over the past 3 years, I’ve made it no secret that I really enjoy the monthly Changing Seasons photo challenge, and it occurred to me that I have this second blog and I should be spreading the love around.
Being out in nature is an obvious place to see the changes in season and we witness it month to month on the TransCanada Trail as we poke along through the miles.
I hope you enjoy this gallery of March memories – all were taken between Peterborough and Hastings, about 120 km northeast of Toronto, as measured by highway travel, or about 190 km as measured by trail distance.

We’re still seeing section of trail with patchy snow.
Forested areas are either snow covered or flooded. One industrial little animal has found a dry home, complete with bridge.

Hastings Pisces Park. This is one walleye not impressed with being skewered.
We find many inukshuks in our travels, but these were just off the trail east of Hastings.

The name of this road appealed to my sense of humour. We’re in the middle of farmer’s fields. What technology? … and it really was a very gray day.
There’s still some snow in the shady parts of the forest.

You could always work a reference to past years in a post. That way lazy people (like me) can revisit the archive with minimal effort. 😀

This has been the best March I’ve seen in a long time. Many back to back days of sunshine, no snow, no rain … a hiker couldn’t ask for more 🙂

These are wonderful pictures. In a few months you’ll be walking in shorts and wiping the sweat from your forehead (and capturing a whole ‘nother kind of beauty).

For all the whining I do about how boring the TransCanada is, I do enjoy going back and looking at the month’s photos. To me, they tell a story of our journey 🙂
